This Is A Gun

This training session is designed for anyone that wants to learn the very basics of what a firearm is. This training is offered free of charge as a public service to improve general safety and knowledge of what a firearm is and how to behave around one. To keep costs down, the training location is the learner’s home. Our knowledgeable trainers will teach safety, definitions, and function.

The learners will consent to firearms being brought into their home. Live fire is not part of this training. Live ammunition is not part of the training.

No sales will occur as part of this training.

Topics:
* Rules for safe firearm handling and storage.
* Definition of ‘firearm’ and discussion of ‘guns’ that are not firearms.
* Differences between pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
* Differences between ammunition types.
* Basic function.
* Basic grip and sight picture.
* Basic first-time-buyer’s guide.

Audience: Adults and minors (if accompanied by a parent/guardian) ages 8 years and older.

Prerequisites: Brief phone interview and a character referral.

Cost: Free

Length: 2 hours

Location: Your home


This Is A Gun – Handgun Live Fire

This training session is a one-on-one session where you will go to a local range and be coached through several live fire exercises. These exercises include loading a magazine, firing a handgun at a paper target, and tips for improving accuracy.

Audience: Adults only

Prerequisites: ‘This Is A Gun’ training.

Cost: $105 (cost includes range fees, 50 rounds of ammunition, and the use of a handgun if you don’t have your own)

Length: 1 hour range session

Location: Range local to Spring or Conroe


All About Your Gun

This training session is a one-on-one session where our trainer sits down with you and teaches you the ins and outs of how your specific firearm functions.

Additionally, you will be instructed on how to perform a cleaning by walking through it yourself.

Prerequisites: Brief phone interview and a character referral.

Cost: $50 plus $10 for cleaning supplies (unless you have your own)

Length: 1 hour

Location: At our location or at your home


NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

This is the nationally certified NRA class that teaches students to operate and shoot any rim fire or center fire pistol, ammunition knowledge, selecting the right pistol to purchase, care and maintenance, and proper storage.
